In my country it's the other way around, when you buy something from an American seller, you always have to choose one size smaller. I bought a hoodie from an American seller. I normally wear L, went with S. Though the Premium I Am An Elephant Aholic Shirt sleeves are the right length (maybe a bit short) the waist is still twice my size. Yet in our brick and mortar clothing stores, the size Smalls are always sold out first. In women's clothes its actual mediums that sell out. Racks of xs crap I could fit one thigh into leftover cause there are not actually that many xs size women.
I had an uncle buy me a shirt from the US for my birthday. He said it was a Large size since that's my size. Size for an Asian man from an Asian country. Suffice to say that the shirt was so massive, it looked like it was made for a behemoth 1.3x my height, with football armor underneath. I haven't used it in the Premium I Am An Elephant Aholic Shirt past 16 years since at no point did I reach the size to wear it. Yeah, Ali Express vendors are super up-front about their sizing and get eager to get it right. Which is easy if you use metric.
